As an Assistant Project Manager on the Portland Glass commercial team, a typical day for you will include:
- Preparing steps to ensure project runs smoothly, including but not limited to: setting up project in system, reviewing and updating job cost, releasing to engineering for shop drawings, preparing submittal log, creating timeline, preparing projected manpower schedule and schedule of values
- Assisting PM with purchasing of material and negotiating with vendors for pricing while maintaining accurate tracking of job
- Procuring and scheduling fabrication release package, including manpower requirements
- Preparing all safety sheets, reviewing with project foreman and conducting ongoing communication as required
- Interpreting and implementing the job policies, procedures and allowances (cost, time, materials)
- Successfully bringing a project in on budget and maintaining a good working relationship with customer to ensure future projects and build customer base

(Required qualifications)
- 1-2 years of general construction knowledge required. Previous experience with project management in the glass industry is preferred.
- Effective communication skills with all members of the department as well as engineering firms, architects, general contractors and suppliers
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings
- Fluent in Microsoft Office, XL, Project and Word
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test per applicable state laws
- Possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Education: High school diploma or GED, associate or bachelor's degree preferred
- Physical requirements: Must be able to lift minimum of 25 pounds.
